Tell us something about you that most people don't know about.
Ans: I guess I'm good at editing videos, creating cinematic video collages. I recently picked up this skill when I learnt how to use Sony Vegas software. So far, I've done quite a few things with it that I'm quite satisfied with.
What is something you wish you can change about yourself?
Ans: That would be my attitude towards unfamiliar environment. Be it in studies as well, going to a new study… I typically embrace things with a sense of curiosity. But other than curiosity, if it's something I don't really feel comfortable with, I can feel a sense of negativity towards it. And when that happens, I find that it takes a lot more effort for me to overcome that negativity to push myself on. To push myself on to achieve the goal I want to. But as long as I dedicate effort to a particular thing, there will be a time that will come that I become comfortable with it.
Tell us about the world you grew up in.
Ans: Well… The world I grew up in, I can really say it's quite benign. I've never been troubled by poverty, I have access to everything I can wish for. Education, shelter, everything. That really makes me sympathize with people who don't have such things. That is why I dedicate effort in taking part in charity events. For example, SRS (Students Responding to Students), where I helped a bunch of migrant children learn English, gave them a good time, planned a scientific demonstration for them. Which is nice to see these kids who generally won't have, and generally never will have laboratory equipment, play around with those things for themselves, getting their hands on those test tubes. It reminds me how even a very simple reaction, a very non-dangerous reaction like sodium carbonate and vinegar can amaze them. To think that I had originally planned a combustible reaction involving sugar and potassium chloride, that is when you will have a gun powder like effect if you mix the two together. I come from a well-developed family who has a considerable amount of funds and can afford good housing, good heating, good shelter, and other people simply may not have that. So I feel that by participating in these events and helping people, I may providing what I have that they don't have for them, at least a part of it.

Ans: Well, I'm not a person who remembers quotes well. But I do remember a lot of quotes about failures. A lot of people, celebrities, scientists, aviators, even politicians, they have all said the same things. I will try my best to rephrase it, but not precisely. It says that, "Failures are precursors to success." I'm sure everyone has heard of it. I believe that's very true. It's inspired when I fail, when I absolutely bomb a test, it teaches me how not to bomb the next one. Be it from academics, or even my hobby. For example, I'm an avid flight simulator and whenever something happens - I miss a procedure or the aircraft crashes completely, I learn from that. I will go back and take a look at the checklist and procedures manual and learn from that failure what I've done wrong. I believe it is only through failure that one can truly achieve success.
